but, if there's some of the members are from the same ipt, like some of us who study at matrix for example, i'll just combine them in one post..
got it?
ok, for march, let's start with the 1st institute; HELP college..only one of our friends study there..it's ARINA!!! sila2..
Well, first of all, the introduction! hehehehe...
Salam to all my brothers and sisters, my name is Nur Arinah Zainordin and I've been in Al-Amin for 11 years.
11 years full of precious memories with friends and teachers that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
When I came to HELP Uni. College, I didn’t expect anything and I didn't plan to go there at all. It's been my father's plan to get me in there to that college since my sister went there when she's 18 and now she graduate and already working at BSN. And she's only 22 years old! I guess I never see that one coming. hahahaha...
Surprisingly, I just follow my dad's plan without saying anything. I didn’t even apply to any other colleges or IPTs. Until today, I still don’t know why I did that.
Apparently my dad only had one college at his mind, HELP Uni. College. So I went there, it is allocated at Pusat Bandar Damansara. And here's a hint, my college is at the underground! Very sad kan?!...sob..sob...
I take a Foundation in arts program, but seriously I didn't learn any arts subject at all. What I learn is just a basic math, english, computer and other selective subject like business and marketing. There is only 3 semester for the foundation student and it's only take one year to finish. Many people ask me, what is foundation program? hahaha..well, it's the same as diploma program but it's just that we finish earlier than them. When I went there on the orientation day ( it's only 1 day orientation, no kidding!), there were Chinese people everywhere! And I said to myself, "ok, now I'm gonna freak out! ok,chill, arinah! You can do it!" hahaha..something like that la.. and then began my adventurous journey at HELP!(adventurous la sgt! hehehehe...)
Well, let me began my story with the academic sector. All the subjects was learn in English (typical la kan..), then not only I have to speak english with my lecturer but also with my classmates (they're not really a malay language fan). At first, I feel awkward a little bit but then I'm pretty cool with it. hehehehe..
My first sem. not really goes well cause I only got pass for all the subject whereas my chinese classmates most of them got distinction (B) or high distinction (A). They're really study every single day! (well, it means I didn’t really study la).
My second sem. quite ok a little bit from my first sem. but it's the most tiring semester ever! And we also got to choose our own time table and class! Yey! But three months were full of assignments, quizzes , homeworks and test! But I had fun though. Now, I'm in the third semester where I cannot wait to finish! AHHHHHH!! And I also got this stupid LAN subjects (m'sian studies & islamic studies) that is compulsory to take, if not you cannot graduate or something like that. Seriously, I don’t know why government ask us to take those subjects, it such waste of time (the class is at 5 until 6.30 pm) and waste of money ( I have to pay RM300 for each subject!)
I'm telling you, in the m'sian studies class, all I can hear is the lecturer (the lecturer is indian lady) keeps critique the m'sian government and I can understand why she feel that way. Even all the chinese and indian student support her statement whereas all the malay student just keep their head down (cause of humiliation).
Move away from academic sector. Now hear some interesting stories to tell. I had all kind of different friend since my first sem. In my first sem. I didn't friend with any malay people (although in my class had 2 malay girl and 2 malay guy).
I'm quite lucky that in my class both malay girl wear 'tudung' but I didn't actually hang out with them besides I usually hang out with indian and chinese friends. Not that I don't want to be friend with them, it just both of them are really quite! Well, I'm not really good handle with quite people. hehehehe..And with indian and chinese friend, I can said anything I want, they're really open minded and sometime they even ask me about my religion, islam which is I'm so proud to explain to them. Really, if you hang out with chinese and indian people, you can tell the different between them and malays. Not that I want to back my own kind, but sometime you have to listen to them. Cause don't be surprise if they take over this country some day. Not only they're really hardworking but they also smart enough to think about the future. Let me tell you, the top of the ten richest man in m'sia is chinese guy. The second one is Indian, the one that own Astro and Maxis. The third until the tenth one is all conquered by Chinese!! Where’s all the malays?!Wait, where's all the muslims?!
Ok, move along! hehehe..quite emotion back there. Well, where did I stop? Oh, my second sems. in college quite fine and I've meet couple of new malays students (from new intake) but I just hi to them and smile every time we meet across the corridor at college. The third sem. where I began to hang out with malay students cause apparently all my chinese and indian friends prefer to hang out with their own kind. I cannot really blame them cause in the end you just prefer and comfortable with you own people (talk from the experience, sometimes they had to follow me if we had launch together because some places is not halal). I'm glad they're respect me and I understand if they wouldn't want to have launch together with me cause they want to eat their own food. Even a chinese friend ask my permission to eat a pig meat that she brought from home wherever she with me. I'm like asking her why she asks for my permission and she just don’t want to hurt my felling. Then I took an opportunity to explain her why muslim didn’t eat a pig meat.
If you asks me if there are any HOT guys or pretty ladies, well there are plenty of them! Most of them are models. But don’t let the looks fool you! Most of this hot guys and pretty ladies are mix and some of them are muslim! I can’t even believes they are muslim until they're in my islamic studies class. Even the lecturer asks them if they're really a muslim. hahaha..There is one guy well we call him 'a poser' (he's a model) at college. He's in the foundation for like almost 2 years for repeating his failing subject. All the malays girl in college went crazy for his looks but for me, he's too short! hahahaha..Besides, he kiss a girl at the cheeks and for me that is not a good sign! What else?! Well, you can count with your finger how many of them are really praying. And the surau in the college is very small! Even at one time when I went to surau for pray zuhr and my malay friends were like made a huge deal out of it. They were like saying, 'baikye arinah!'I mean come on la, it's just a prayer not went for 'ceramah' or anything! This is not including the friday prayer, ok. I mean whenever it's supposed to be a friday prayer, I can see most of the malay guys from my college were 'lepak' at mamak stall and smoking! I mean if you don't want to go to friday prayer, that between you and Allah but all this malay guys when they were asks about friday prayer from the chinese friends, they're said that it is not compulsory! Now the chinese people assumed that muslim doesn’t have to go friday prayer anymore. Remember I had 2 malay girl friend that wear 'tudung' that I mentioned earlier. Well, now one of them is not wearing the 'tudung' anymore! I asks her why she didn't wear it anymore, she said that her boyfriend ask her to wear 'tudung' and now she already break up with the boyfriend and so the 'tudung' also break away...hehe..so, as usual most of my chinese friend assumed that we as a muslim can wear 'tudung' whenever we like. Aiyo! Can you imagine I have to explain to them in the language that made sense. if not, they wouldn't understand. Emm..what else?! well, there is a very famous couple at college and they are my friend. The girl is very beautiful (mix of arabs and chinese) and the boyfriend well no need to say la (he's a model), they both a muslim. Sometime we hang out together with my other malay friends and they always hug each other every time and they even kiss each other at mouth! OMG, I really cannot said anything. When I saw that, eeww...I was like speechless! And my other friends were like for them it's normal. Well for me it's not normal at all. Seriously, after that I keeps find any kind of excuses not to hang out with them anymore. And my friend, she's said that she don't know how to pray at all. I was like shocked and eemm...I really don’t know what to do anymore. Anyone want to switch place with me?!hahahahahahahahahaha..(that is my depression laugh).
Well, I'm only tell you guys half the story of what happened in my daily life at college. Everyday there is always a new drama and new surprised. I just glad that I went home every single day and no need to live together with these kind of people. I pray to Allah every single day to give me strength whenever I need it every time I went to college. Thanks for reading this cause I really need to let it all out. All this time, I've been keep it to myself cause I though nobody will understand it. Well, I hope you guys don't judge me or anything. It’s really to hard for me take care of myself when there is no one to look after me. I admitted that I am a different person now and I really hate the fact that I let these people change me. If there is any advice or anything you want to say, I'm free to listen. Thank you. Salam.
p/s : sorry about my english. if you want know, that the way I speak at college. hehehehe..
